01About us
This website is run by registered business name, trading as Corner 23rd
(legal form, e.g. (Pty) Ltd or sole proprietor, registration number
registration number).

Phone: phone number
By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
02Using the site
Please use the site lawfully and respectfully. In particular, don't:
- try to break into, overload or interfere with the site or other people's accounts;
- post anything unlawful, hateful, abusive, misleading, or that isn't yours to share;
- copy the site's designs, photos or text for commercial use without our permission.
We try to keep the site available and accurate, but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
03Accounts
You need an account to leave reviews or send photos. Keep your password to yourself and let us know if you think
someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what's done through it. We may suspend or close
accounts that break these terms. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
04Commissions & fittings
Commissioned pieces are made to your measurements and choices. After your enquiry we'll talk it through and give
you a quote. Nothing is binding until you accept the quote and pay the deposit of X%.
- Timelines we give are our best estimate. We'll keep you updated if anything changes.
-
Fittings can be moved with reasonable notice. If you cancel a booking, we may keep a reasonable
charge to cover work already done or materials already bought for you, as the Consumer Protection Act allows.
-
Your fabric and items: please collect finished pieces within
number of days of us letting you know they're ready.
05Shop orders
Pieces in the shop are cut to order. Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. Online
payment isn't live yet. When it is, an order is accepted once we confirm it and your payment has cleared. If
there's an obvious pricing mistake, we'll tell you and you can choose whether to go ahead.
Made to measure orders need a fitting first, so we'll contact you to arrange one before we
start. For now, shop orders are paid in cash when you collect them from the studio.
06Returns & defects
Because our pieces are made to your size or specification, we can't take them back just because you've changed
your mind. This is allowed under section 20 of the Consumer Protection Act for goods tailored to a customer.
That doesn't affect your right to quality. If a piece is defective or not what we agreed, tell us within six
months of receiving it and we'll repair it, replace it or refund you, as section 56 of the Consumer Protection
Act provides. Normal wear, and damage from misuse or not following the care instructions, aren't defects.
If you buy online once checkout is live, you may also have a seven-day cooling-off right under section 44 of the
Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, except for goods made to your specifications.
07Reviews & photos you share
- You keep ownership of your reviews and photos.
-
By sending them, you give us a free, non-exclusive permission to show them on the site and on our social media,
credited with the name (and handle, if given) you provided. You can ask us to remove them at any time.
-
You confirm they're genuine and yours to share, and that anyone else in your photos has agreed to them being shown.
-
We check everything before it goes up, and may decline or remove anything that breaks these terms. We don't edit
what you've written.
08Our designs & content
The Corner 23rd name and logo, our designs, patterns, photos and the site itself belong to us or the people
who licensed them to us. You're welcome to share links and photos of your own pieces, but please don't reproduce
our designs or content commercially without our written permission.
09Liability
As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect or consequential losses from using the site, or for
third-party sites we link to. Nothing here limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited,
including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
10Law & disputes
These terms are governed by South African law. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. We'd much rather
put it right. You can also approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission.
11Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place an order or submit something
is the one that applies to it.
